BSMAT is used to protect floor tiles against the movement in the substrate. It protects the floor under thin-set tile installation from moisture migration and cracks. It can be applied beneath ceramic tile, natural stone and synthetic stone finishes in internal areas, on cement and anhydrite based screed, concrete slabs, old ceramic tiles, plywood and wooden boards.
Supply and set of a decoupling membrane composed of two external layers in polyurethane, in a non-woven sheet and an internal reinforcement in fibreglass net to protect tile floors from the movements of the substrate, as BSMAT by BENFER S.r.l. the application must be finalized with flexible adhesive with normal or rapid settings, such as BENFERFLEX+S1.
METHOD OF USE:
Cut the BSMAT to size with a knife or scissors. Using either a 4 mm or 6 mm notched trowel, comb the chosen adhesive (every BENFER flexible adhesive slow set or rapid set is suitable), onto the substrate to an area approx. 10 cm wider than the mat. Subsequently lay the membrane into the adhesive bed and press in with a smooth trowel or roller ensuring that there are no voids or folds. Ensure that the membrane is completely bedded with a full transfer of adhesive. Cut membrane sections are to be butt jointed flush against each other.
